Sergiu Carpov from CEA together with colleagues from KU Leuven and Inpher Sarl participated and obtained the first prize on track 2 "Secure Genotype Imputation using Homomorphic Encryption" of the IDASH Genome Privacy Challenge. The challenge was to predict 250.000 genome SNPs on HE encrypted data with highest accuracy score and smallest execution time. CEAs solution did it in under 3 seconds!

The 8th, and final, plenary meeting of the KONFIDO project took place in Naples, Italy, on September 16-18, in conjunction with the KONFIDO Final end-user workshop. Project partners from EXUS, Time Lex, Fondazione Santobono Pausilipon onlus, Telbios, Centre for Research and Technology Hellas (CERTH), IDIBAPS, Commissariat a l’ Energie Atomique et Aux Energies Alternatives (CEA), Eulambia Advanced Technologies, Bit4id, Consorzio Interuniversitario Nazionale Per L’Informatica (CINI), all met together to discuss the validation and evaluation of the KONFIDO outcomes and schedule that last set of actions towards the end of the project.
KONFIDO's paper on "Comprehensive user requirements engineering methodology for secure and interoperable health data exchange" that has been published in BMC Medical Informatics was shortlisted as a best paper candidate for the Clinical Information Systems section of the IMIA Yearbook 2019, among more than 1000 papers!

The 6th Plenary Meeting of the project was held in Milan, in February 7 & 8, 2019. 15 partners from 7 EU countries participated in discussions on the proposed KONFIDO solution and got updates on the progress of the different implementation tasks. Various legal aspects of the project, such as GDPR, eIDAS regulation, etc. were also a major discussion point during the meeting.
A concept paper presenting the rationale, the users and beneficiaries, the design principles, the integration-validation-demonstration plan as well as the overall positioning of KONFIDO is available for download.
